Dog Training Steps (2015)
Design, Fabrication, Assembly, Finishing
These stairs were designed and built as part of the UNM School of Architecture and Planning Chapter of Freedom by Design. Freedom by Design is an organization that works with either individuals or groups to help improve the lives of people with disabilities. In this case I worked with the Adelante Development Center's Arts and Animals Department to design something that could help train the new service puppies as well as work as a prop in their theatrical productions.
The steps can be seperated into two halves as well as completely flat-packed for storage when not in use. On the first two steps on either side are small icons and text warning the users that the steps are for puppy use only.
